Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
Dobropillia municipality carries a deep historical and industrial legacy dating back to the early 19th century, with its earliest recorded roots traced to the Paraskoviivka settlement in 1859. Granted city status in 1953, the administrative centre of Dobropillia historically earned the moniker "pearl of Donbas" due to its position at the heart of one of the richest coal-mining basins in the region, operating for decades as a vital driver of Ukraine's heavy industry and energy security.
Due to the severe impacts of the ongoing war, the municipality currently operates as a relocated municipality, demonstrating profound institutional resilience and administrative continuity from its temporary administrative base. Despite the displacement of its core territory, the local leadership maintains active governance, managing critical support systems for its scattered residents, tracking infrastructure needs, and driving strategic planning for future stabilisation.
