Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
Khust municipality is one of the largest municipalities in Zakarpattia region, united the city of Khust and 15 village councils. The municipality covers an area of 402.3 km2 and has a total population of nearly 82,000 people. The city of Khust, which is the administrative centre located in the central part of Zakarpattia and effectively serves as one of the region’s key administrative, logistical, medical, educational, and economic centres. Since the start of the full-scale war, the municipality has also accepted a large number of internally displaced persons, which has further increased the load on housing, social, medical, and engineering infrastructure. The economy of the municipality is represented by different branches of economic activity: industry, construction, transport and communication, trade, services, hotel and restaurant business, financial activities and others. The main industrial enterprises are divided into branches: light industry, forestry and woodworking industry, engineering and metalworking, food industry and other industries.
