Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
Kupiansk municipality is a strategic frontier area situated along the Oskil River. Before the war, it operated as one of the largest railway junctions and logistics hubs in eastern Ukraine, supporting a strong economy focused on food processing and manufacturing.
Due to its frontline location, the municipality has been severely affected by ongoing hostilities, shifting the immediate local focus to emergency safety and humanitarian aid. The local administration remains deeply resilient, working under incredibly tough conditions to maintain basic services and coordinate relief efforts. For international donors, this municipality is a critical partner requiring urgent stabilisation funding, mobile infrastructure, and long-term reconstruction planning.
