Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
The municipality is located in the north of Ukraine, in the northeastern part of the Zhytomyr region, 100 kilometers from Kyiv. It unites 77 settlements with the administrative center in the city of Malyn. The largest industries are pulp and paper, stone mining and stone processing, forestry and woodworking. The main branch of agriculture is crop production.
The municipality has a sufficient number of healthcare, education, culture, sports, retail, consumer services, banking and postal services.
From the first days of the war, the Malyn municipality was on the frontline with the enemy in the north of Ukraine, where heavy battles for independence and preservation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territory were fought, making the Malyn municipality one of the most affected communities in the Zhytomyr region. More than 1,000 residential buildings and over 100 objects of various forms of ownership in the social, industrial and municipal sectors were affected.
Despite the uneasy situation in the municipality due to the russian aggression, citizens continue to return from evacuation. The municipality also received about 2 thousand people displaced from the occupied or destroyed territories. The range of social and medical services has been expanded to the pre-war level, and the provision of administrative services has been restored.
Work is currently underway to rebuild the destroyed facilities, primarily critical infrastructure and social services, children's and sports grounds, and administrative offices.
