Additional peculiarities of the municipality:

Myrnohrad municipality, officially established around the historic mining city of Myrnohrad (founded in 1911) and three villages, is located in Donetsk region.

Prior to 2022, the municipality possessed a robust heavy-industrial economy driven by 7 major enterprises specialising in coal mining, machine building, and metalworking, supported by a large working-age population (58%). Its extensive social infrastructure included 21 educational institutions, a regional infectious disease hospital, and 16 sports facilities.

Currently, the municipality is facing catastrophic wartime destruction, resulting in the total loss of centralised water, heat, and gas networks, and forcing the evacuation of all businesses and approximately 98% of the population.

Operating as a displaced administration, the municipality maintains full institutional continuity and has successfully reoriented its services. The local government actively runs a network of IDP support centres across Ukraine - including in Dnipro, Pavlohrad, Verkhniodniprovsk, Kamenske, Tsarychanka, Odesa, and an Administrative Services Centre in Kyiv. While managing remote education, healthcare, and an active Youth Council, the municipality is seeking international partnerships and inter-communal memoranda to secure humanitarian aid for its vulnerable citizens and to draft high-readiness stabilisation and rebuilding frameworks for post-war recovery.
