Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
Selydove municipality, located in Donetsk region, was a vital industrial and coal-mining centre of 34,700 residents before its temporary occupation in January 2025 due to russian military aggression. Operating effectively in relocation, the displaced municipal administration actively supports its population, which now includes over 19,000 officially registered internally displaced persons (IDPs), by ensuring the continuous provision of healthcare, education, and social services. Backed by solid institutional experience in national recovery programmes, the municipality is prioritising transparent partnerships with international donors and investors to deploy immediate housing solutions for IDPs and restore critical social infrastructure. Looking ahead, Selydove’s strategic recovery framework focuses heavily on building energy resilience, driving public service modernisation, and preparing comprehensive reintegration projects for its displaced citizens.
