Zhovkva is a leader in international cooperation in Lviv Region.

Oleh Volskyi, Mayor of Zhovkva has signed 23 partnership agreements with cities in Germany, France, Poland, Lithuania, and Belgium. Negotiations are ongoing with Italy, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Thanks to its strategic location - 39 km from the Polish border, 30 km from Lviv, and the presence of a railway station - the community offers excellent conditions for business development and logistics.

There are 10 major manufacturing plants operating in the community, exporting products to Italy, Spain, the USA, Canada, the UAE, Germany, Poland, Estonia, and other countries.

The City Council has initiated the creation of the Municipal Industrial Park "ZHOVKVA", which is expected to generate around 1,200 new jobs and attract new industrial investments.

A children’s health and recreation center operates within the community and is slated for modernization. The upgraded facility will serve as a recovery and rehabilitation center, particularly for Ukrainian service members.

Zhovkva is recognized as the first energy-efficient city in Ukraine, having introduced wood-waste-fueled heating plants as a model of sustainable energy use.

The City Council also operates the Municipal Development Institute, a utility enterprise with extensive experience in implementing international development projects in infrastructure, sustainability, and social initiatives.
