Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
Polohy municipality, historically a vital industrial and railway hub in the Zaporizhzhia region, has had its home territory under temporary military occupation since March 2022.
The Polohy City Military Administration successfully relocated its operations to the city of Zaporizhzhia, where it currently coordinates housing, welfare, and integration for over 8,100 registered internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Despite operating in displacement, the local authority maintains high institutional capacity, running a relocated Administrative Services Centre, an educational hub, a Resilience Centre, a Veteran Support programme, and a Business Development Centre.
For international organisations and donor agencies, this resilient municipality provides a highly transparent, audited platform for immediate IDP livelihood support and comprehensive planning for post-deoccupation infrastructure modernisation.
