Prior to the full-scale invasion, Velyka Pysarivka municipality was renowned for its competitive business environment, efficient agriculture, and immense tourism potential, which features the unique flora and fauna of the Hetman National Nature Park. Positioned on the frontlines since February 2022, the border municipality was one of the first to face the influx of enemy equipment, yet it stood firm by establishing vital humanitarian hubs and volunteer coordination networks. Despite ongoing hardships and the relocation of many residents, the community continues to preserve its rich cultural identity, exemplified by the 'Vechornytsi' folk ensemble which has passed down local traditions for over 55 years.
